MIZUHATA, Barbara Chiyoko (Rokutani) (1942-2010)

Barbara Mizuhata

Barbara Chiyoko Rokutani was born on September 7, 1938 in Alameda County to nisei parents, George and Michiyo Ruth (Teramoto) Rokutani of Alameda County, California.   On August 4, 1942, Barbara, her parents, Uncle Shinobu Samuel and paternal grandmother, Tsuruno Rokutani were evacuated to the Poston, Arizona camp block 308-6-D, from Reedley, California. On June 22, 1943, Barbara and her parents left Poston and resettled in St Paul, Minnesota.  

      In 1956, Barbara graduated from Central High School in St Paul, Minnesota.    Formerly of Bloomington, Minnesota, Barbara from Burnsville, died a the age of 71 years on April 23, 2010.  Barbara is preceded in death by her father, George Rokutani (2000).  

 She is survived by her husband, Jim; mother, Michi Rokutani; son, Michael (Sarah); and daughter, Karin (Scott) Arnold.
